What is gene snow?

Gene Snow, also known as "The Snowman," was an American drag racer who competed in the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) Funny Car division in the 1960s and 1970s. He was born on November 22, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas, and began his racing career in the early 1960s.

Snow quickly gained a reputation for his aggressive driving style and willingness to push the limits of his cars in pursuit of victory. He won his first NHRA national event in 1965 and went on to win multiple NHRA national events over the course of his career.

In addition to his success on the drag racing circuit, Snow was also known for his flashy personality and flamboyant style. He often wore a signature white suit and cowboy hat, earning him the nickname "The Snowman."

Gene Snow retired from competitive racing in the 1980s but remained involved in the sport as a team owner and mentor to up-and-coming drivers. He passed away on February 25, 2021, at the age of 83. Snow's legacy as one of drag racing's most colorful and successful figures continues to be celebrated by fans and fellow racers alike.
